Owen graduated with a First Class Honours MSc degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Limerick. He is a CORU registered Physiotherapist with current membership of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. Owen has gained invaluable experience in a variety of other settings such as paediatrics, orthopedics and post-surgical rehabilitation while working in the HSE. He has since completed his Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine at University College Cork.
Owen began working in SportPlus in 2019 and in 2023 became co-owner with John in their new venture.
Owen has worked as physiotherapist with a number of sporting teams in rugby and GAA including Kiladangan Senior Hurling team, Tipperary Senior Hurling and Football squads.
Owen’s areas of special interest include; Concussion, Neurology, Sports injuries and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation.
He has completed a number of courses to further develop professionally, such as biomechanics assessment and orthotic prescription, and courses on strength and conditioning. Owen has a keen interest in strength and conditioning and believes that exercise prescription is one of our most effective treatments.
