Ger graduated from the University of Limerick in 2014 with a B.Sc in Physiotherapy and joined the Sports Plus team in November 2021. After graduating his Physiotherapy career took him to New Zealand where he in worked in a busy private clinic in central Auckland. The clinic catered for a widely varied caseload, including musculoskeletal problems, post operative, pediatric and sporting injures. He was also involved in a number of both Union and League Rugby teams in Auckland, working as team Physio.
Ger returned to Ireland in March 2016 and began work in Co. Cork, working in two Private Practice clinics in Mallow and Kanturk. He was also involved with UCC Rugby, a number of GAA teams in North Cork and Tipperary U-21 hurling/football, before his move to Dublin in September 2017. Here he worked in clinics in both Kildare and Dublin, as well as being involved with Naas rugby club.
Ger comes from a sporting background having played hurling with his club Kilruane McDonaghs in Tipperary. He also played on his University team, with Tipperary at underage levels and teams in New Zealand and America. He played junior soccer with his local club in Tipperary. He completed the Dublin City Marathon in 2018 as well as the Westport Sea to Summit Adventure Race in 2018 and 2019.
Ger has a keen interest in Sports Physio and Musculoskeletal problems. He has worked with several GAA teams over the years at both club level and inter-county level with Tipperary Senior and U21 football and hurling squads. He has also been involved with various rugby squads from UCC Rugby, UL Bohemians and Naas Rugby.
Ger is a qualified Pilates Instructor (APPI training) having completed his training in New Zealand. He enjoys teaching group based classes and incorporates Pilates based exercises into patient rehabilitation.
